Maryland
Maryland Energy Administration offers the Solar Energy Grant Program as a financial incentive to the residential sector. Solar Energy Grant Program provides funding for a portion of the costs to install certain qualifying solar energy systems. MEA began taking applications for the third funding cycle on June 1 and is still accepting applications and issuing grants in 2007.
Incentives offered under the Solar Energy Grant Program are as follows: Solar water heating property: 20% of system costs up to a maximum grant amount of $2,000; Residential photovoltaic property: 20% of system costs up to a maximum grant amount of $3,000; Non residential photovoltaic property: 20% of system costs up to a maximum grant amount of $5,000.
The Maryland Energy Administration still has plenty of funds available for grants under the Solar Energy Grant Program. Applications continue to be accepted for solar water heating grants and photovoltaic solar grants in 2007.
